Life coaching is not about recovery or healing. Instead, it focuses on life enhancement. Your coach will help you gain fulfillment, success, well-being, and happiness. This is achieved through improving relationships, gaining career satisfaction, and increasing overall quality of life. You will discuss your goals and aspirations with your coach, identify any barriers or obstacles, and then develop a plan of action. People choose life coaches for different reasons.
You'll come in for a 1:1 session with your Life Coach. The session will be about 50 minutes to an hour. In this appointment, you'll talk about what you want to accomplish. Your Life Coach will ask relevant questions to help you define your goals and identify challenges to goal attainment.
Next, you'll outline the objectives needed to achieve your goals. Expect to have homework assignments. Any Life Coach worth their salt will give you tasks to work on outside of your appointments. These will be tasks meant to help propel you toward your goal either directly or indirectly.
Your life coach will support and guide you along the way. Your coach will also hold you accountable for achieving your goals. External accountability creates additional motivation for change and growth, which will make your goals your reality.
