Your kitchen can be a place of refuge. If you can manage to find a quiet hour in your home, we highly encourage using the opportunity to make a home cooked meal, engage your senses, and reflect. Find a simple recipe you'd like to try, and get your hands messy. Try to become aware of what you smell as you mix your spices, what you feel when you knead your dough, and what you taste when you sneak a bite of the ingredients. Take in each step of your recipe and may attention to detail. Try not to let your mind wander to tomorrow's meeting or a previous conversation as you mix, chop, and roll. Notice when your mind begins to wander, accept the thoughts, and dismiss them. Soon enough, you will have a delicious, hot meal and the feeling of being grounded and rested.
